JARDIN: Birds, culture, coffee fincas, miradors, and waterfalls - oh my!

Waking up near Jardin in the Colombian Andes... within 5 minutes saw Andean guan, parrots, and an Andean motmot. O.O! Later, headed to Reserva Natural Jardin de Rocas, 15 minutes walk from the main plaza/basilica to see Andean cock of the rock. It'll be a very good day... :))

Here's my route!

Jardin Plaza from the mototaxi...

Moto taxi'd to Cristo Rey (statue overlooking Jardin). Wow!!...

Moto-taxi'd back down to the Cascada la Escalera waterfall trail...and then walked back out to the road and to town (~30 minutes). Perfect weather. Muy tranquilo.

And getting back to town...

A walk back to the plaza and Basílica de la Inmaculada Concepción (Jardín):

Then, a otro lado - the other side of the valley - to Mirador Herrerita via the cable car on calle 12...

"La Garrucha" teleferico (cable car)

View from the cable car

Mirador at the end of the cable car. Then a 15 min walk up up up to the main mirador.

Mirador Herrerita

Empanades (spicy mashed potato)

Walking down down down to the river and the Reserva Natural Jardin de Rocas:

Una gallito de roca!

Not sure what this is...

Andean mot mot

Got a moto taxi back up past town to a bar-restaurante terraza. Patacones and guac/salsa
